Zero data retention
Understand how LMSA uses Zero Data Retention (ZDR) with OpenRouter to route requests to providers that do not store your data.
Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is a policy offered by certain model providers, using designated endpoints available through OpenRouter. When the ZDR parameter is enabled for a request, OpenRouter routes that prompt only to endpoints that have agreed to enforce a Zero Data Retention policy.
OpenRouter defines ZDR as: “Zero Data Retention (ZDR) means that a provider will not store your data for any period of time. OpenRouter has privacy settings that, when enabled, only allow you to route to endpoints that have a Zero Data Retention policy. You can enforce ZDR globally, per model group, per guardrail, or per request.”
